FILM SUMMARY

Jinpa takes place in a remote quiet region of Tibet and centers on a truck driver named Jinpa. He picks up a hitchhiker, also named Jinpa, who seeks revenge on someone who hurt his family years before. Jinpa portrays Tibet in stark visual terms, contemplating death, vengeance and redemption through a strange and ultimately moving cinematic road trip across one of the hardest to reach parts of Tibet. The film is based on two short stories: I Ran Over a Sheep by Pema Tseden and The Slayer by Tsering Norbu. Jinpa won the Horizons Best Screenplay award at the Venice International Film Festival in 2018.
