My take on the theme βLovely, Lovely Winterβ happens to focus on the not-so-lovely aspects of Winter. Although Winter is a season full of fun and beauty, for lots of people at times Winter can be a real mood killer to say the least.

With National Poetry Month approaching this April, Kawartha Lakes is excited to launch a temporary public art project to help build a sense of place and a shared understanding of experiences during these unprecedented times. βWords While We Waitβ is a project all residents can take part in, by submitting poems and verses related to the pandemic for a chance to have their words turned into public art.
