This course is designed for beginner level students, with little or no previous skill required.
Start by learning the basics from a professional watercolour artist and instructor with 45 years experience.
You will be guided through the fundamentals of watercolour painting while creating artworks, you’ll be proud of.

The different strokes you’ll achieve with different brushes
Planning and composition and creating a sketch
Colour theory, colour mixing and application techniques
How to transfer a reference image into a finished painting
Projects: Peace By The Stream, and Blooming Daisies

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR – MARY ELLEN GERSTER
Mary Ellen immerses the viewer in her bright and glowing watercolour paintings, through the layering of transparent colours, providing depth and realism.
She has displayed her art both in individual showings and (in concert) with others, including many juried shows and has her works in many private collections throughout Canada and the U.S.
Mary Ellen enjoys painting for pleasure, while showing and selling her works in local shows, galleries and her Lindsay studio. She considers her specialty to be ‘photo realism’ still life of fruit, flowers and waters scapes
