After a long career in healthcare, Jewell took up art as a hobby in her retirement. Beginning with intricate drawings then moving to large florals, Jewell now focuses primarily on impressionistic landscapes. Jewell’s paintings begin on a black canvas as she works from light to dark, applying broad brush strokes in vibrant oranges and red tones.
