Seniors for Seniors

Seniors for Seniors, is an innovative new outreach program designed by seniors for seniors.

This sensory-based visual arts initiative brings practicing senior artists into long-term care homes, delivering engaging and inclusive workshops that foster creativity, connection, and well-being among participants. The program is designed to promote social participation, reduce isolation, and strengthen community ties through shared creative expression.

The pilot phase of Seniors for Seniors is currently underway at Victoria Manor in Lindsay, where residents are taking part in art-making sessions in a calm and positive environment where the participants enjoy hands-on activities and the opportunity to socialize.

With senior artists leading the programming, Seniors for Seniors brings authentic peer-to-peer engagement that resonates deeply with participants.

The Gallery looks forward to expanding the program’s reach, one brushstroke at a time.

If you are interested in bringing the Seniors for Seniors program into a local seniors’ facility or you are 55+ and wish to apply to be a participating artist, please contact Susan Taylor at art@kawarthagallery.com or 705-324-1780.
