The Kawartha Art Gallery presents a new, ongoing dedicated exhibit space for local, community groups called The Art Nook. Kawartha Art Gallery is now achieving its vision of having three exhibit locations at all times - a major rotating exhibit, a space for the Permanent Collection, and now The Art Nook.
Kawartha Art Gallery proudly presents Inspirations in collaboration with the Kawartha Lakes Circle of Writers, an exhibit that beautifully exemplifies our dedication to fostering artistic expression within our community. From April 22 to June 28, 2025, visitors are invited to immerse themselves in a unique collaboration where the visual and literary arts intertwine. This exhibition features the creative writings of 12 talented area writers, each piece inspired by a distinct work of art created by 12 local artists. By showcasing this collaboration, the Gallery provides a platform for both visual artists and writers to share their perspectives and interpretations. This exhibit is a testament to the power of art to inspire and connect, highlighting the diverse voices and talents that enrich our community and reinforcing the Kawartha Art Gallery's role as a vital hub for artistic exploration and dialogue.
As part of this exhibit, we hosted a Writer Meet & Greet reception on Saturday May 3, 2025 from 2 to 4pm at Kawartha Art Gallery, 190 Kent Street West Lindsay, 2nd Floor
The Circle of Writers is an independent group and adult outreach program of the Kawartha Lakes Public Library. Their mission is to offer constructive critiques on each member’s work whether poetry or prose. Many of their writers have published and are hoping to publish novels, novellas, or poetry volumes.
