Penny Knapp

I was born & raised in Oshawa. Although I was always interested in creativity, I pursued the sciences & maths in high school and became a dental hygienist, focusing on orthodontics for my 40 year plus career. In 2002, I went back to school to get my interior design certificate and landed a job as an assistant design editor on one of Canada’s national design magazines. It was here, that I was bitten by the photography bug, having worked with some of Toronto’s best photographers on set. I love travelling & photographing architecture, sculpture, daily life, sunsets & nature. I am now retired (mostly) at the cottage on Lake Scugog, near Little Britain, where I find my photography work is evolving and expanding into other mediums like embroidery and watercolour. When not in my studio, you can find me on the dock appreciating nature or hanging with my cats!
