Introducing The Art Nook - A New, Dedicated Community Exhibit Space at Kawartha Art Gallery
The Kawartha Art Gallery, in preparation for its upcoming move to 19 Cambridge Street in downtown Lindsay, has announced the creation of a new, ongoing dedicated exhibit space for local, community groups called The Art Nook. Kawartha Art Gallery is now achieving its vision of having three exhibit locations at all times - a major rotating exhibit, a space for the Permanent Collection, and now The Art Nook.
To celebrate the opening of The Art Nook, KAG is proud to present Inspirations in collaboration with the Kawartha Lakes Circle of Writers, an exhibit that beautifully exemplifies its dedication to fostering artistic expression within the community. From April 22 to June 28, 2025, visitors are invited to immerse themselves in a unique collaboration where the visual and literary arts intertwine. It features the creative writings of 12 talented area writers, each piece inspired by a distinct work of art created by 12 local visual artists. We were delighted to host members of the public for a Writer Meet & Greet reception on May 3 to introduce the exhibit.
KAG Executive Director Susan Taylor says: “By showcasing this collaboration, the Gallery provides a platform for both visual artists and writers to share their perspectives and interpretations. This exhibit is a testament to the power of art to inspire and connect, highlighting the diverse voices and talents that enrich our community and reinforcing the Kawartha Art Gallery's role as a vital hub for artistic exploration and dialogue.”
