ABOUT THE ARTIST

Sydney Martin is a visual artist based in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario. Sydney’s artwork explores and combines the mediums of painting, collage, photography, mixed media and jewellery making. Her inspiration comes from noticing unexpected beauty in the world around her, centring her artwork in the themes of nature, flowers, architecture, light/shadows and reflections.

EXHIBITION STATEMENT

For my posters I wanted the statements to stand out using bold cut out letters combined with line drawings of flowers and greenery. I often use floral and nature elements to my artwork and in these pieces, I feel the illustrations represent femininity, strength and resilience.
