Snow on the Lighthouse

Judy’s journey in art started in 1971, while her children were young, as a hidden desire to create life and colour on canvas. Starting out as a hobby, while maintaining a family and management career in retail, Judy became deeply enthralled with painting, experimenting in oils, pastels, charcoal, and watercolour. With exposure to excellent teachers and fellow artists in the area, Judy worked to be mindful of her watercolour mentor’s advice that, “You must give 90% hard work to 10% talent”. Through this dedication to her craft, Judy achieved recognition in her work with the Canadian Watercolour Society and more. Working to master the depth of expression and quality in her work has made it possible for Judy to enter both the worlds of realism and surrealism, with each piece of Judy’s artwork a link in the chain that represents a vital part of her accomplishments. Judy’s work is in provide collections throughout Canada.

My work is an extension of all the personal life experiences I have encountered through travel, dreams, and time. My love of art carried over. I can enter the world of reality or fantasy, capture history, emotions, and anxieties. There is no other better expression to showcase life’s realities and dreams than Art.
